Hooked on Craft Challenges DT Card-Anything but a card!

Well, it's looks like the scheduling didn't work...so I can only apologise for being late.

This one got me a bit...I make cards lol!

So decided on a little gift bag, which I made from Anna Griffin card stock, the cute little bear stamp is of course from Hooked on Craft along with evrything else on the bag-with the exception of the ribbon-which is from the Ribbon Girl.

I had great fun with the sweet little image, coloured him with my Promarkers and did a little extra embellying with Glamour Dust and some micro beads on the daisy.

All of the flowers were also given a light twinkling of the old G.D. too, gotta lurve that sparkle!

Ingredients

Stamp, doiley, flowers, gems and paper butterfly -Hooked on Craft
Card stock - Anna Griffin
Wide organza spotty ribbon - The Ribbon Girl

Okey dokey then ladies, get crafting and get your entries in here after you've spent some time browsing what the super talented DT have created for your inspiration-puts my little bag in the shade! lol.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hooked on Craft Challleng e#7 DT Card-Spring has Sprung

Well, lets just hope that Blogger's scheduling is working tonight!

Sorry I haven't been on for a while, been quite poorly and have new meds which are not so kind lol, but I'm feeling a little like my old self so should be back in the swing of things shortly :)

On to this fortnight's challenge 'Spring Has Sprung', Hooked on Craft is an Australian based supplier and it's spring down in the southern hemisphere! This one caught me a little off guard hehe, I'm working with all my autumnal tones but have just been waiting for the chance to work with Karen's new Geisha Bears stamp range...don't know about you but I'm soooooooo happy that Oriental themed cards are coming back into vogue, I just lurve it! AND nothing says spring to me like Cherry Blossom!

So, here we have my humble contribution to the DT's inspirational cards this challenge...you really should go and have a shufty at what the other girls have created,  truly gorgeous! You can see them and enter the challenge here scrumy prize too!

Well as you can see, I've gone 'all out eastern'! Love, love, love it!

I used DCWV oriental cardstock to make a 'lantern' card base, distressed the edges with antique linen diatress ink and cut out an aperture which has acetate in. I've stamped some cherry blossom onto it and glittered it from behind'

It took me some time to decide on the image to use, as there are soooooo many gorgeous ones in the range but finally settled on the Geisha Bear with fan (way toooooo cute!), coloured with my trusty promarkers and the fan got the Glamour Dust treatment lol as did all of the gorgeous oriental lilies and cherry blossoms, from the store. I finished it off with some adhesive pearls and one of Karen's 'to die for' pins. Topped it off with some lovely champagne pure silk ribbon and hey presto!

Hope you like :)

Ingredients

Cardstock - DCWV
Glitter - Art Institute
Stamp, flowers, pin, pearl gems - Hooked on Craft
Ribbon - The Ribbon Girl
Glamour Dust & Acetate

Come on then girls, get some spring in your step, see you over on the challenge blog!

Hooked on Craft Challenge DT Card

It's time for a new challenge over at Hooked on Craft Challenges folks! Sooooooo, without further ado-and with many fingers crossed that Blogger's scheduling is working! lol-I will just get on with it :)

This fortnights challenge is....Things With Wings....and I had so much fun with this one!

Karen has loads of cute stamps with 'things with wings' on them but I just couldn't resist the butterfly sets! There are large and small to choose from...but you know me, I just couldn't choose, so used loads of different ones lol :)

See how they shimmer and shine!!!?

I wanted the butterflies to look like they were 'fluttering'
over the paper, so they were all coloured with Promarkers and cut out, then covered in Glossy Accents and sprinkled with Glamour Dust-gotta have the sparkle on the butterflies don't ya? This technique means that when the paper/card stock dries, the Glossy Accents 'plasticises' it, making it pliable so you can mold it and it keeps it's shape. So the wings were shaped and I coiled little springs out of fine lilac wire and attached them with silicone.

I used a white dotty embossed 8x8 card blank,  Back to Basics paper, Coredinations cardstock-what else? lol, pretty lilac Hunkydory glitter card, lime green die cut doily, white satin ribbon, some lilac fibres, beautiful 2 inch sheer glitter organza ribbon, lilac die cut banner and sentiment stamp all from my stash.

The butterfly stamps, stunning oriental lilies, lilac stick on gems and the gorgeous handmade butterfly pin are all from Hooked on Craft

What are you waiting for ladies? Get crafting! Lol.

It would be really good to see you all in this challenge.

*hugs* Sal x

Azura has arrived!

I really should be asleep but hey ho...not happening right now, I so know that I'm not going to be bright and breezy for work in the morning, lol, oh yes, I do have a meeting first thing-not to mention the decorators coming in to fix up a community room, for a group of adults with learning disabilities who are going to be recording their own radio shows. How cool is that?!

I thought I'd share a little something with you :)

As part of their birthday celebrations The Ribbon Girl were giving away the sweetest little fairy, made by the super talented Gail, in a competition to name her! Well I took one look at the cute little thing and decided that she should be called Azura-it means sky jewel, in fairy speak! Didn't know that I could speak Fairy did you, huh?

Well, the loverly Mary and Andrea picked me! Yay and double yay!

Yesterday she fluttered into my craft room-carrying some uber gorgeous Ribbon Girl goodies no less-and has made herself perfectly at home on my desk! She's been hovering there ever since, inspiring me to create glittery, flittery gorgeousness!

Want to meet her? Yes? Well here she is!

Isn't she just B-E-A-utiful?!

Gail is such a clever lady and I'm soooooo very lucky to have won this little beauty :)

Still not sleepy, so I'm going to have abash at making something for their new challenge-USE RIBBON! lol, you know me, just lurve the ribbon! The prize for this one, is some seriously gorgeous bling-has to be worth a go ladies, doesn't it? :)

Night, night folks hope you all sleep soundly and have happy dreams!

Thank you for popping over, I really appreciate your comments.

Advice needed and a hoooooge winge-My Craft Studio

Having never been huge on computer crafting-nothing wrong with it, just not for me-I am however, pretty much addicted to that 'Crafting Channel', you know the one where they craft all day long? Never bought anything from them,t ried once and it sold out but was still on the website-put me off a wee bit methinks, lol, just like to have it on in the background when I'm at my desk, having a coffee, well any time really! hehehe

Well, while they were demo'ing the MCS, Encyclopedia of Papercraft, Templates and Folds DVD/CD collection, I got it into my head that I could use this one. Not the artwork but the templates could really be handy. Soooooo, you know me, looked on the bay of e and got them, hmmmmmm. Breaking strain of a Kitkat me!

My thinking was, print off and laminate the templates, or just print them onto acetate and pass the disks on to someone who would use them for the whole package-I'm nice like that me lol!

Well they've come, put them on the poooter and guess what? They won't blooming run!
Talk about frustrating. I've installed, uninstalled ans reinstalled the professional version 3 times, then had a brainwave-I only want the templates-sooooo, have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the standard version twice! Still won't run, although at least I'm getting a message up now-registration request not allowed-haven't requested one of them!

Please, please help dear blogging buddies, if you have any ideas can you let me know? I can't watch the DVD's any longer-'lift your craft knife so that the point goes in first', 'keep your hand steady when you're cutting a circle', 'make sure you line up your edges'-man oh man, I had to watch them all, all the way through-you know, the way you have to watch a really bad film?! They would be great for 'virgin' crafters starting from scratch though, soooo glad I didn't pay full price, I reallly wouldn't have been impressed lol x

Thanks for popping over and 'listening' to my ramblings.

*hugs* Sal x

DT Card Hooked on Craft Challanges

Hey there peeps!

It's challenge #5 at Hooked on Craft Challenges and the theme for this fortnight is SWEET TREATS this can be anything you can eat, lol cake, sweets nom nom nom. It can be your image, papers or embellies-as long as we can see something sweet!

Here's my effort for this one. I started off wanting a bit of a 'retro' feel-hence the blue and white polka dots-then veered off with the black and red. I think it's cute!

I have to be honest, I couldn't decide which onof Karen's lush little stamps to choose-I settled on just 2 in the end lol!

Both are coloured with my fave Promarkers, with their little noses covered in Glossy Accents. This one had his milkshake glass also covered in Glossy Accents, the froth was 'blinged up' with Cosmic Shimmer diamond sparkles.

This greedy little munchkin's cherry was also topped with Glossy Accents and his cupcake frosting covered in Glamour Dust-you know I love it! The spoon is a Maya Road chipboard piece, covered with liquid pearls, in pewter and then Gloosy Accents...toppped off with one of Karen's bows.

The ingredients are as follows;

Paper - Anna Griffin
Gingham ribbon - The Ribbon Girl
Gems - Paper Cellar
Flowers - Hooked on Craft
Cardstock & miri - Kanban

Hope you like it my hunni's, don't forget to head on over to Hooked on Craft Challenges to get your entry in!

Challenge Card

First of 2 posts tonight-the next is a DT card later on!

Well I've done a bit of crafting just for me today! With the new Hougie Board-it came yesterday but I was working all day so couldn't play!

Anyhoo back to the card...it's a stepper...soooo much easier with the Hougie let me tell you!

I haven't done a Tilda in ages and had so much fun with this one!

Isn't she sweet?

As I said the stepper took very little time itself, the board is brilliant (although I don't think I'm done gripeing about the 'lady' who sold it to me!)

Okies, the deets.....

I used a 300gsm linen textured card for the base and matted and layered with some  pretty yellow glitter card with some loverly backing paper-it's from my stash and honestly can't remember what it is, sorry. The main topper is my sweet little girl, coloured with Promarkers and literally covered in Glamour Dust, layered some gingham and white die cuts (I ditressed the edges of the white one with a die based ink pad), a punched out border and finished off with some little half pearls.

The bottom stepper is finished with some larger half pearls, the middle one took a little time. It has pleated white lace, some mimosa seam binding-from The Ribbon Girl, pearl trim, yellow paper roses interspersed with some little pearls. The top 'step' is finished with some die cut swirls, which were again distressed with the ink pad, some more little pearls and a sentiment topper-yes you've guessed it, distressed with the same ink pad and a touch of Glamour Dust to the tiny flowers and a big bow made from the seam binding.

I'm entering this one into the following challenges;

Just Magnolia - Anything Goes (with the option if adding glitter)-hmmm think I have that option covered lol)

Totally Tilda Challenge Blog - Pearls, Swirls, Ribbon and Lace

Hope you like it my loverlies and thank you so much for taking the time to drop in!

*hugs* Sal x

ps. only 3 more days to go until I draw my CANDY folks, you've got to be in it to win it! lol

Tutorial #1.....Faux Tortoise Shell.....it's my first one on Blogger, please be gentle :)

I've been promising to do this for a while now...and since my mojo's gone AWOL (may have something to do with the fact that I have this awesome idea for a card but am still awaiting the delivery of my Hougie Board and until I get the card done I think I may be in limbo tssk) so figured I'd do it straight away...have told Vickie aka Okienurse that I would, so here you go hunni, just for you!!!

Tis the simplest of techniques but soooooo very effective lol!

To start off with, this technique relies on ink 'bleeding a bit', so all your materials need to be water based.

Here are the ONLY things you need for this fab effect!

Here I have a plain white chipboard buckle slider, it has a coated paper on it. Don't panic though, you can just cover whatever piece your doing in either PVA (craft glue) or give it a quick coat of white acrylic paint! I use Whispers water based brush markers (a mid brown and a black), only because I bought the whole blooming set about a gazillion years ago (an impulse buy because I just HAD to have them all!) and am determined to get some use out of them other than water colouring my stamped images lol! A gold gel pen, mine's a Pentel one and some Ranger Sepia Accents, I use this as I think it gives a better depth of colour but you can use Glossy or Crackle accents for a different effect, or indeed ANY water based gloss medium.....

You start with the mid brown colour...

Draw 'wiggly' lines and a few blobs, leaving about a quarter of the white showing through, then get your black pen...

Drop in some odd shaped blobs of black, still leaving some white, just really randomly...then get your gold gel pen...

Fill in most of the white areas with this, slightly overlapping onto the brown and black ink...

Please excuse the fuzzy'ish picture here folks...then cover the whole thing with your Sepia Accents...it will look like a hooooge cloudy mess at this point but don't panic, this is where the magic starts.

The water in the glaze gel starts to dissolve the water based ink...this wouldn't happen with alcohol or oil based pens! BUT it doesn't mix up completely because the gel is soooooo thick, that it dries before that could happen. Leaving you with a lovely shiny piece of faux tortoise shell.

Make sure you leave it for at least 2 hours before touching it though...or you will leave finger prints or worse in the glaze! lol

Still a wee bit fuzzy but hey, it's an extreme close up, that buckle slider is less than an inch across!

The whole process of colouring and glazing takes minutes.

Hope you found this helpful, please let me know, I have lots more tips and techniques that I would be happy to share, if you're interested!

Tutorial #2 will be Old Battered Metal Effect, with embossing powders! That's if you'd like it of course!

Anyhoooo my loverlies, thanks for seeing this post through to the end :)

*hugs* Sal x

ps, if you haven't already left a comment on my candy post...what are you waiting for peeps?! lol

WOYWW #113.....and Candy reminder :)

Yes, yes, I know I'm late again...been finishing paperwork off ready for work in the morning!

Sorry folks this is going to be a quickie as I have a DTcard  to get uploaded tonight and I haven't even taken the piccie yet! lol

For anyone who has no idea what on earth I'm panicking about regarding getting this post up please pop over to the fair lady Julia's blog here and join in the snooping fun that is known as What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Okies, well what's on my workdesk today then? Well some quite exciting stuff really hehe...I think so :)

Had a delivery from the Bay of E to come home to this evening, see all those alcohol inks? Yep them, got the lot for £12 including the p&p...I'm thinking it's going to be a very inky weekend! AND those Dali, metallic acrylics...99p...well impressed (p&p on those was 2 quid so still a major bargain!) When I saw them listed I figured I'd have a crack at the auction, you see my thinking was thus...if the paints aren't any good, then I still have a fabby tin for altering...yes? As it turns out the paints are blooming, great, really high density pigment and full of mica! I have a small canvas here somewhere...hmmm.................

As you can see there is still no new Hougie Board on my desk (see previous post) and no I've not had an e-mail to say it was posted on Monday...as promised...although I've had a notification through to say that it was dispatched today at 3.30pm...so watch this space folks!

Thanks for popping in to nosey about and listen to my mad ramblings. I'm off to take some piccies now and will try to get around you all in the next few days :)

*hugs* Sal x

ps. scroll down for my little thank you giveaway/candy and leave me a comment for entry, if you haven't already!

Gently smouldering!

Hello there peeps, I'm on the verge of ranting, somehow I feel that blogging will lessen this feeling...well lets hope eh?

On Monday last week I succumed to temptation...we all do it hahaha...I've been wanting one of those Hougie Boards for months...yes I have other scoring boards but I wanted a Hougie! (as well lol). As you know they aint cheap, so I scoured the net...not for one minute thinking that I would happen across any you understand.

Then I found it, a Hougie + THE book + bonus crafters rule (yes I have one but another won't eat or drink will it?) Sooooooo, I checked out the price...£32 all in...bargain! Checked out the delivery details...3-4 working days...by the weekend, woohoo! BOUGHT IT!!!

Thursday came-no Hougie...ok, Friday came-no Hougie...don't stress yet, surely on Saturday it would be here? Please, I have a DT card that I want to use it for! Did it come? NO it didn't!

So I checked the site again, maybe they're on holiday? Nothing, so I sent a quick e-mail;

Hi, could you please tell me when the Hougie Board etc was posted, as it has not yet arrived and was due for delivery by yesterday.
Many thanks
Sally

Not stroppy, not having a go, just 'where's my Hougie please?'

So at half  9 on Saturday night I had a reply, not any reply mind you but a very strange one...well I think it is...please tell me that it's not just me;

I know Hougie Crafing items are wonderful and it would be lovely to have them posted quickly. The posting day is estimate delivery and not due by. It was suppose to be Royal Mail 2nd class, but that is totally my fault! Anyway, I really appreciate your message and will get your Board, book and Craft Rule (excellent rule, by the way) posted on Monday, Royal Mail 1st class.

Also thank you again for choosing Hougie. It really is just great.
Talk to you soon. Or actually, I will send you an email when parcel is posted.
Best Wishes

Is it me? Is that a wee bit strange? The site clearly said...delivery: 1st class post, delivery within 3-4 working days.

Well guess what? I haven't had an e-mail today, to say that it's been posted :( I'm almost too scared to e-mail again, goodness knows what reply I'm going to get! Am I expecting too much, that when I order something on a Monday I feel it should at least be posted out in the same week?

Oh my days, I'm ranting! So sorry folks...best get myself up to my craft room and chillax a little...I may post a little make later (although quite what it will look like while I'm in this mood who can say lol)

Thanks for reading my wafflings...ooh and if you haven't already entered for my candy/giveaway please scroll down :)

*hugs* Sal x

Just a little 'Thank You' candy opportunity

Well, as you know I've had nearly 1,000 hits on my new blog and to say that I'm blown away is an understatement. Who'd have thought that there would be anyone out there even remotely interested in my makes...let alone those of you who regularly pop in to brighten my day?!

So I thought I'd give you all the opportunity to have a bit of new stash! BUT what could I possibly offer that you lovely talented ladies may not already have in your stash? Or, if you do would maybe like some more of?

Soooooo, what's on offer then?

I thought you may like to have the chance to make a paperbag album!

There's a sewn and punched 6x6 album, it has; 12 pages, 3 large inside pockets and 3 'bottom flaps' to use as tag pockets. I've also included 32 pages of the new Limited Edition cardstock 'Summer Breeze' and 'Love Letters', half is double sided and the other half is glittered-really beautiful. About 10 metres of assorted lace in; black, white, beige, grey, blue, baby pink, fushia and pale blue. Some braid and ric rack in pinks and orange. A pack of fibres in baby colours. Full roll (25m) of 15mm ivory satin ribbon, from Club Green-I figured you can use as is or bling it up with glimmer srays or inks! Some mini vintage postcards and a couple of sheets of self adhesive metal flower embellies. 10 purple Morning Glory, paper flowers. 10 'Hand Made With Love' charms and a lovely selection of dew drops in; Pale Pink, Raspberry Pink, Aqua, Pale Gold, Clear, Black and Holly Berry Red. I've also popped in a set of hexagonal paper boxes, for decorating-I know you'll all be starting thinking about Christmas and figured you'd maybe like to do some little gift boxes :)

Anyhoo, hope you like the goodies. Now, I've tried to get one of those linky gadgets...but you know how un-techy I am. So all you have to do to get your crafty hands on this lot is.......

Be a follower and leave me a comment on this post!

I'm going to leave this open for 2 weeks-I know some of you lucky peeps will be away on a break-it will be drawn the old fashioned way...ie, I will put your names in a hat lol but I will take piccies of the proccess! There's not many of you so I think you're in with a good chance of getting your mits on the goodies!

The winner will be drawn on the 9th of August, I hope you like what I've picked as a thank you and enter your comment!

*hugs* Sal x

ps.
If you don't want to have a bash at the album, I'm sure you can use this lot on your beautiful cards!

Hooked on Craft Challenge DT Card #4

Hi there folks, I've not blogged in a while, been poorly bad with the fybro-probably the stress of moving the ageing parents from the family home-although I have still continued my commenting duties for the fabulous Hooked on Craft Challenges!

Speaking of which...the time has come for a new challenge...

CUTE AND CUDDLY

My card for this challenge was inspired by my need to create a 'Thank You' card for my next door neighbour, who is a lovely old gent who loves to garden and has been the epitome of a good neighbour this last few weeks and has kept my mahoosive privet hedge under control for me in this bonkers weather we've been having (it's gone berserk!)

Anyhoo, on to my DT card

Well you know me, I'm not big on male cards BUT guys like flowers too, right?!

The stamps, flowers, leaves and pin are available from Hooked on Craft I can tell you that the postage is quick, the last package of DT goodies I had, made it from Oz in 4 days! Quicker that most local post, to say that I was gobsmacked is an understatement :)

The card stock is...as ever... Coredinations, the plaid paper is Joanna Sheen's Pretty Plaids, gems are Paper Cellar and a distress inked sentiment...those along with Karen's fabulous supplies was all I needed to make what I think is a really cute male card! Next door loved it anyway! lol

Just to give you a close up so that you can see the quality, I have to say that the pins are THE best quality that I have ever worked with. Karen makes them herself, the pin itself is heavy duty and  the beads are real glass...and they move! Just can't stop fiddling around with them lol!

Anyhoo peeps, whatcha still doing here? Get on over to the Hooked on Craft Challenges blog and enter!

Thanks for popping over, your comments mean alot to lil ole me!

*hugs* Sal x

P.S. Look out for my 'Candy' being posted tomorrow, just a little thank you for my followers who have made me smile!

Hooked on Craft DT card

Well hopefully the scheduling has kicked in at the right time...it's on US time not GB...

The third challenge at Hooked on Craft Challenges is now open, the theme is WITH  LOVE...and how we all like a bit of that eh?!

Here's my attempt at it...

I have to say, I love this little cupid...so cute! He's so fresh and modern but I wanted to put a classic slant on the design, I did this with the pink and blue colour way...you always see Victorian cherubs in this colour scheme. I coloured him with Promarkers and glittered his wings and heart with Glamour Dust. The butteflies are Martha Stewart punchies, thier wings are covered in Stickles, I had a bit of a panic on looking at thier bodies...so small...so dug out some teeny tiny 1mm nail gems and made the bodies out of 3 of them each. Cute flowers from Hooked on Craft, some more Stickles in the centre.

Anyhooooo, hope you like it and thanks for popping over for a nose, why not  scoot on over and enter NOW? lol. The rest of the Design Team have some really gorgeous inspiration for you!

Ingredients

Cupid & sentiment stamp and flowers-Hooked On Craft
Paper-Papermania
Cardstock-Coredinations
Bling-Glamour Dust & various gems from stash
Ribbon-Anitas
Martha Stewart Punches
Pentel white gel pen
Promarkers-Blush, Vanilla, Coral, Ivory, Pastel Beige, Slate, Cinnamon, Cardinal Red. Pastel Blue

Hope to see you all in the challenge!

Stats=Candy!

Super quick post...it's stupid o'clock in the morning (3.00am!) and the Fybro is playing up again, hence not being sleepy...I have a little medicine fairy who will wave her magic wand any minute now, so fear not lol.

Anyhoo, I thought I'd have a look through all those 'tab' thingy's, up there at the top of the page, and found one that said Stats...well I had to have a shufty didn't I?!

WELL, I can't believe it, I've only been blogging for like a millisecond or two and my page has had over 950 views!!!!!!!!!!!! Who'd have thunk?! Am I chuffed, much? Oh yes indeedy, I most certainly am!

Sooooooo, in Blogland stylee, I'ma gonna give some candy away.....oh yes I am!!! I don't have many followers, methinks, that will narrow the odds for you lovely crafty compardre's who pop over to cheer my days.....and nights lol!!!

Now all I have to figure out is, how do I get one of them Randomy number chooser thingys? Oh and one of them page view counter jobby's-cos seeing how many lovely crafty peeps have dropped by has really made my day!

Help please, fabby blogging buddies, how do I go about setting this up?

I know, I know...ridiculously late again! I only got in from work at 9.00pm...indeed that is 13 hours (again). Mental note to self...speak to boss in the morning regarding ridiculous workload!

Well it's week 109 of the blogging phenomenon What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, here and our esteemed leader, the fair and lovely Lady Julia, is back off her hols. I'd like to say a huge WELL DONE and thank you to the fabulous Lunch Lady Jan, who filled in so brilliantly...she has her own blog now...(knew she'd get addicted hahahaha)...pop over and show her some love!

As I'm late, the waffle will be kept to a minimum...I also have to repackage and resend a couple of things for my lovely DTmate Mandy, as Royal Mail botched it up and sent it back to me! Is there anything faster than next day delivery?!!!

Well folks, here's my workspace as it is right now.

The 'bones' of a project that I have to complete...tonight! Along with my usual mess...one of these weeks I'm going to seriously surprise you all with a clear workspace...promise!

The completed project will be up at 11.00pm on Sunday night...pop over and have a shufty, it will be a new challenge at Hooked on Craft :)

Right, I'm off to snoop and rekindle my deflated mojo.

Thanks for popping over.

WOYWW

A little late, sorry peeps, had a manic day at work-a real mare! Then got home to a message of Mum, saying that her and Dad were moving.......on Monday! Shocked, much?!!!

Anyway it's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, over at the great Lady Julia's blog here where we have the famous Lunch Lady Jan, standing in for Lady D.....who is off sunning herself on foreign shores-lucky girl!

Anyhoooooo, here we go.......

A few things on the go.....hence the mess hahahaha!

On the left is a secret project, it's a surprise for someone who may well pop in for a snoop today...sorry folks you're gonna have to wait until it's winged it's way to her before you can have a looksee :(

Also on the go are a couple of matching Tildas for some challenges.

The bigger one will be going onto a card, with the sentiment and the matching wee little mini Tilda will eventually be gracing the pale yellow 'gift box in progress', also on my desk this week.....just all need assembling now.

Right, I'm off for a little (mahoosive) snoop now.....then I'll be working on a 'New Home' card for the ageing parents! Who'd have thunk?!!!

Thanks for popping over.

*hugs* Sal x

Following Problems!

Man oh man, am I frustrated!

Is it just some stupid thing I've done, or has the 'Follow' button disappeared from everyone's screen? All I have now is a 'Share' button...I'm sure I didn't have that before! I've found some great blogs out there and have some new followers that I would like to follow also, I may even sling my toys out of the pram and throw a hissy fit!

Oh, please, please help me, I can feel a 'moment' coming on!

Hooked on Craft Challenge DT Card

Well, it's time for the 2nd challenge at Hooked on Craft Challenges and I must say that I think we were all completely blown away with the entries for the first one, well over 300!!! To say I was amazed is a bit of an understatement and also maybe a little exhausted after trying to get around to as many of the entries as I could. Can I just say thank you, to all those who participated and made it such a success and I hope to see you all again at this fortnights' challenge, which is, SHOW US YOUR FLOWERS.

I'm sure you all saw my previous post, which was my failed, first attempt at this one.....it was a blockage in the spritzer that caused it and the offending bottle has gone back to the shop, it seems some glitter got into the mix with the mica powder.....I feel somewhat vindicated by this new information lol!

Anyway, onto the card...

A little different from the first one!

It's 8x8, on a Coredinations card base, there are a ton of die cuts in there and plenty of blinging jewels. I covered all of the flowers, which can be puchased from Hooked on Craft, here , with my fave Glamour Dust before assembling them into bouquets. At the bottom, I've used  a strip of olive green coredinations cardstock, covered it with double sided adhesive, topped with some olive green mesh ribbon, also from Hooked on Craft, and then rubbed more Glamour Dust into all the spaces. Edged the strip with some white Martha Stewart punched borders.

I couldn't decide on a greeting, so dug out some pink with white stars, chipboard letters-obviously gave the stars a touch of the old GD as well-and stuck them to the strip with silicone adhesive. I'm not completely sure where the paper came from, it was a freebie with a magazine some time back but I mounted that onto more of the same olive green cardstock and added a gazzilion pink gems around the outside.

Hope you like it and are going to pop over to the challenge to join in with us! It kicks off at 11.00pm tonight British time, see you there!

Failed DT Card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, I will share the bad with you, a truly devastating boo!

I can't tell you what the challenge theme is, you'll have to wait wait until Monday for the NEW DT card, sorry :(

Man oh man! Failiure, big style, what a mess!

The bouquet was beautiful, took ages to put together but something was missing.....then I had a brainwave.....a teeny spray of licac glimmer mist.....bad idea!

Firstly, does THAT look lilac to you?! Secondly, the first spritz was lovely...nice fine spray but a bit light...the second spritz showered the whole darn thing in huge globules and the ink spred everywhere! Then the tears started flowing and I mean in Amazonian proportions :(

See it doesn't even look better all fuzzy!!!

And the moral of the story? Spritz BEFORE assembly, leave brainwaves for unimportant projects and share mistakes with others, so they don't make them! Lol, well that's it for now folks...I'm off to check out your gorgeous creations.

Thanks for popping in.

*hugs* Sal x

WOYWW

Soooooooo what's on my workdesk today then? For those of you still out in the cold, lol, pop on over to our esteemed leader, the illustrious Lady Dunnit's blog here and have shufty at what I'm waffling on about hehehe!

Well, as you all know, my lappy went in for another new hard drive a couple of weeks ago.....and I'm still waiting for it's return.....so me being me, couldn't wait any longer and went and bought a new one! Well, to be fair, the other one's that old, Noah's Grand Daddy signed the bottom of it when he was a twinkle in his Pa's eye!

Bet ya can't guess what's on my workdesk then?

Yup tis the new baban, flaunting the new challenge blog that I'm a proud member of the Design Team for lol! 1st challenge, Anything Goes, still has a few days to run so come on over here and share the lurve! Ok end of advert hehehe :)

See how luverly it looks, pay no attention what-so-ever to the boxes and boxes of stashly goodness around and under the desk, the zip lock bags full of precious stash on the wall or the even more stash stored on top of my desk! Oooh, I don't know if you can pick it out but there's the end of a blue box sticking out of the left hand side of the middle shelf, it's a non stick baking sheet that I picked up in the local Pound shop, I had to get it and am going to give it the full Glimmer Mist trial, if it works I'll ket you know! BUT do please pay attention to my fab PiF gifts that are hanging on the desk and wall! I still can't believe how lucky I was to receive them, Thanks so much again Sylvia! x

On the desk are some Twelve by 12 papers that I'm using at the moment and some bits that I've been 'playing with' tonight!

Ooops, the plug just slipped in there again!

There's some Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die cuts that I've been experimenting with. The large one is distressed with...tada...distress inks, coated in pva glue-then when it's nearly dry, you can mold it into shape. Once dry the centre is filled with a puddle of Glossy Accents and I popped a huge 15mm half pearl into the middle of the puddle and poured in some tiny black micro beads. Tapped off the excess when dry and hey presto! I likey it :) the smaller one is again given the distress ink treatment but then coated in Glossy Accents for a different effect, haven't decided on the 'centre treatment' yet! A stamped and Promarkered plaque, sits waiting for it's card and the curly wild rose has been literally covered with my fave Glamour Dust and is drying nicely :))

That's it from me folks, I'm off to have a nose around YOUR workspaces, see y'all soon!

Thanks for popping in :)
